There's water in the cabinet under my sink but I can't see a leak. What now?
Classic — under-sink leaks only show themselves under specific conditions: the drain leaks only when the sink empties a full basin, the sprayer line only when it's in use, the rim seal only when water pools behind the faucet. I test each system in turn until the source shows itself. It's methodical rather than magic, and it beats replacing parts on a guess.
Can you replace just the sink without redoing my counters?
Usually, yes. A drop-in swaps easily if the new sink matches or slightly exceeds the existing cutout. Undermounts are more involved but absolutely doable in place. What I'll flag ahead of time: going dramatically bigger, or switching styles, can require cutting the counter, which changes the job. Send me a photo and the rough dimensions and I'll tell you which yours is.
My bathroom sink drains slowly no matter what I pour down it.
Because the clog is usually right at the top — the pop-up stopper assembly collects hair and soap into a mat that chemical cleaners barely touch. The real fix is pulling the assembly, clearing it properly, and putting it back adjusted so it seals and drains. Takes well under an hour, no chemicals involved, and it stays fixed for years rather than weeks.
Do you replace the faucet at the same time as the sink?
Almost always the right call — the faucet is far easier to fit before the sink goes in, and doing it later means undoing half the work. If your faucet is fine I'll refit it, but if it's on its way out you'll pay less doing both now. Same logic for the shutoff valves underneath while everything is accessible.
