Drip & Cartridge Repair
The classic drip fixed at the cartridge or seals — often free parts under manufacturer warranty, plus an hour of labor.
Services
A dripping faucet is the most ignorable problem in a house — it's also a few thousand gallons a year, a slow stain in the sink, and a part that was designed to be replaced. Whether yours needs a cartridge or a whole new unit, this is quick, satisfying work to get right.
The approach
The repair-or-replace call is mostly about what the faucet is. A quality faucet with a drip needs a cartridge — manufacturers designed them to be serviced, parts are often free under lifetime warranties, and the fixed faucet is as good as new. A builder-grade faucet with a corroded body, a wobbly base, and a finish coming off in flakes isn't worth new internals. I'll tell you which one you own before we decide anything.
Half the value of a faucet visit is what gets checked underneath. The shutoff valves under sinks seize open over the years, and the day you need one — a leak, a burst supply line — is exactly the day it won't turn. I test them on every faucet job and replace failing ones with quarter-turn valves. Supply lines get the same treatment: new braided lines instead of reusing the old ones, because supply-line failures are how kitchens flood while nobody's home.
Outdoor faucets deserve their own mention in this climate. Front-range freeze-thaw kills standard hose bibs — water trapped in the fixture freezes, splits something internal, and announces itself the first warm week of spring, sometimes inside the wall. I repair and replace hose bibs, and where the plumbing allows it, a frost-free model is the upgrade that ends the annual gamble. If yours dripped all last summer or sprayed when you first connected the hose, it's telling you something.
