Hole & Impact Repair
Doorknobs, furniture, kids, and the occasional stud-finder mishap. Cut back, backed, floated, textured, and blended into the surrounding wall.
Services
Most drywall calls are small: a doorknob through the wall, a crack that keeps coming back, a stain where a supply line let go. The repair itself is quick. Matching the texture around it is the part that separates a fix you notice from one you don't.
The approach
The failure mode on a bad drywall patch is almost always texture. Somebody floats the hole flat, rolls paint over it, and now there's a smooth island in the middle of a knockdown wall that catches light from every angle. I match texture before anything gets primed, and on a repair in a high-visibility wall I'll spray a test board first so we're both looking at the same thing before it goes on your wall.
Cracks that keep reopening are usually structural movement, not bad tape. Denver's expansive clay soils move houses seasonally, and a crack running diagonally off a door or window corner is the house telling you something. I'll patch it, but I'll also tell you honestly if it's going to come back — and if a crack looks like it belongs to a foundation issue rather than normal settling, I'll say so and point you toward someone who does that work.
Water damage needs the source fixed first. If a stain is still damp or the drywall is soft, patching over it just buries the problem in a wall cavity where it grows. I'll cut out the wet material, let it dry, and check moisture before closing it up — and if the leak is still live, that gets sorted before the drywall does.
What’s included
What’s covered
Everything under this heading, handled on the same visit where the job allows.
Doorknobs, furniture, kids, and the occasional stud-finder mishap. Cut back, backed, floated, textured, and blended into the surrounding wall.
Diagonal cracks off door and window corners, plus the seasonal ones along ceiling seams. Taped properly rather than skimmed over so they hold longer.
Stained or soft drywall from roof, supply-line, or ice-dam leaks. Wet material removed, cavity dried and moisture-checked, then rebuilt.
Knockdown, orange peel, splatter, and popcorn ceilings matched to the existing surface so the repair disappears instead of announcing itself.
Popped fasteners reset and refastened properly, seams re-taped where the original tape has let go along a ceiling or corner.
Sealing cracks in garage slabs, basement floors, and walkways before water gets in and freeze-thaw makes them wider.
