That last fifty feet is the service. I can add the outlet under the eave or upgrade the doorbell transformer properly, which is routinely what separates the camera you bought from the camera that works.

Wired or wireless cameras — which should I get?
Wireless wins on install simplicity and flexibility; wired wins on reliability and never charging batteries in January. The honest middle: wireless cameras with dedicated power runs — the flexibility without the battery chore, which is mostly a wiring job, which is mostly why I'm here. Your Wi-Fi coverage at the far corners of the property usually casts the deciding vote, and I'll test that before recommending.
My video doorbell keeps dying or won't ring the chime. Why?
Classic transformer problem — video doorbells draw far more power than the 1980s button they replaced, and the original transformer can't feed them. The symptoms are exactly yours: batteries draining despite being 'wired,' chimes that stopped chiming, cameras rebooting at night. The fix is a higher-VA transformer, a straightforward swap I do as part of doorbell installs.
Can you fish the camera cables through the wall so nothing shows?
That's the standard here, not the upgrade — cables fished through attic, soffit, and wall cavities, penetrations sealed, and the outside showing a camera rather than a cable run. Some routes are genuinely blocked by framing or masonry, and there I'll route the cleanest visible path in paintable raceway. Draped-over-the-gutter is never on the menu.
Do you set up the app and show me how it works before you leave?
Yes — an installed camera nobody can use is a half-finished job. I'll get it on your wi-fi, set the recording and notifications the way you want them, and walk you through it. I don't take login details away with me; you own the account and I'll never need access to it afterwards.
