The interesting jobs are the heavy chandelier, the vaulted ceiling, and the dark hallway with no overhead anything. Running a switched fixture where none exists is normal work here, wiring included.

Can you hang a light where there's no fixture or switch?
Yes — that's routine here, not a referral. It means running cable from a power source, adding a switch leg, cutting in boxes, and patching the drywall after, all of which is one visit's work in most rooms. Difficulty varies with what's above the ceiling and inside the walls; I'll give you the honest read and a firm picture before anything's opened.
My new LED fixture flickers on the dimmer. Is the fixture bad?
Probably not — it's a mismatch. Old dimmers were designed for the steady load of incandescent bulbs, and LED drivers confuse them into flicker, buzz, or a uselessly narrow dimming range. A dimmer rated for LEDs, matched to your fixture type, cures it almost every time. Bring me the fixture model and I'll bring the right switch.
How do I know if my ceiling box can hold my new chandelier?
Weight is the trigger: light fixtures under roughly fifteen pounds are fine on standard boxes, while serious chandeliers want a box rated and braced for the load — and the label inside the box is the only honest witness. I check every heavier fixture before it goes up, and swapping in a braced box adds minutes, not days. It's the difference between hung and guaranteed.
Can you install fixtures I bought online?
Yes, and most of what I hang is customer-bought. Send me a link before it arrives if you're unsure — the two things that catch people out are fixtures too heavy for a standard box and imported ones missing a UL listing. Both are solvable, but better known before the box is opened.
