No Ice / Slow Ice
The water path and module tested link by link — valve, line, filter, thermostat — until production returns.
Services
Ice makers are little machines living inside bigger ones, with their own plumbing, their own thermostat, and their own opinions. When one sulks — no ice, a trickle of ice, cubes the size of aspirin — the cause is almost always in a short chain of parts, and in this metro, mineral scale is suspect number one.
The approach
Ice production is a chain, and the failure is one link. Water arrives through an inlet valve and fill tube, freezes in a mold, gets ejected by a small motor, and a sensor or bail arm decides when to make more. No ice at all points at the water path — valve, frozen tube, or a filter so clogged it's starving the system. Small or hollow cubes mean water is arriving but not enough: a scaling valve or half-blocked filter throttling the fill. Ice but no ejection is the module's motor or thermostat. Each link tests quickly in sequence.
Denver's hard water writes half these tickets. Scale builds in the tiny orifice of the inlet valve until it can't pass full flow — the classic slow decline from full bins to a sad handful of small cubes over a year. It clogs filters ahead of schedule and leaves white sediment in the mold. Valve replacement, a fresh filter, and clean lines restore most scaled systems completely; where a fridge runs unfiltered off an old saddle valve, upgrading that plumbing is the fix that keeps it fixed.
Sometimes the honest answer is a new ice maker module — the self-contained unit inside the freezer — rather than a parts odyssey. Modules for common brands are reasonably priced, swap cleanly, and reset the whole mechanism's clock at once; when a mold heater or integrated thermostat fails, the module usually beats chasing components. Standalone and under-counter ice machines are a different animal from fridge ice makers, and I'll be straight about which repairs make sense on those versus a specialist.
What’s included
What’s covered
Everything under this heading, handled on the same visit where the job allows.
The water path and module tested link by link — valve, line, filter, thermostat — until production returns.
Iced-up tubes thawed and the underlying cause — flow, temperature, or valve dribble — actually corrected.
Valves, filters, and lines cleared of the mineral buildup that slowly strangles metro ice makers.
The whole ice maker unit swapped when that's the economical fix — common brands, clean install.
