Gas Burner & Igniter Repair
Clicking burners, weak igniters, and ovens that won't fire — the gas-side repairs done in-house.
Services
Cooking appliances fail politely — one burner quits, the oven runs thirty degrees cool, the igniter clicks forever before catching. Then Thanksgiving approaches. Most of these failures are specific, known parts, and most are very fixable — including on the gas side, which is where other repair options thin out.
The approach
Gas cooking failures concentrate in the ignition system. Surface burners that click without lighting usually need cleaning or a new spark module; an oven that won't fire is most often the hot-surface igniter — a part that weakens with age until it can't pull the safety valve open, producing the classic symptom of an oven that heats sometimes, slowly, or not at all. These are known parts with known lifespans, and because I'm licensed for the gas side, the whole diagnosis and repair happens in one visit instead of a referral chain.
Electric failures are even more legible. A stone-cold bake element with a blistered spot has announced itself; surface elements and their receptacles test in minutes; an oven that bakes unevenly or runs off its setpoint typically needs a temperature sensor or thermostat rather than a eulogy. Electronic control boards are the wildcard — sometimes the fix is a relay board, sometimes a board costs enough that the repair-vs-replace math tips. I'll price the actual part before anyone commits to anything.
The quiet fixes matter too. A door that doesn't seal — worn gasket, tired hinges, a weak spring — leaks heat, stretches cooking times, and roasts the control panel above; it reads as 'oven's dying' and costs gasket money to fix. Ranges also have a safety item worth checking while I'm there: the anti-tip bracket, absent on most installed ranges, which keeps the whole unit from tipping when a child stands on an open door. If yours is missing, installing one takes minutes.
