How often do gutters need cleaning in the Denver area?
For most houses, twice a year — late fall after the leaves finish, and spring before storm season. Heavy tree cover, especially cottonwoods or pines, can push that to three. A treeless roof might get away with an annual check. If you tell me what's growing over your roof, I'll tell you the honest schedule — and guards can cut the frequency if your trees justify them.
What happens if I skip gutter cleaning?
The failure chain is predictable: the gutter clogs, water goes over the back edge, the fascia board rots, the hangers loosen in the soft wood, and the gutter sags — meanwhile the overflow lands at the foundation, which is the expensive part. In winter, the clogged gutter freezes solid and becomes an ice-dam anchor. A cleaning costs a fraction of any single link in that chain.
Do you repair gutters or just clean them?
Both, and that's the point. Most of what a gutter needs — resealing a seam, refastening hangers, correcting a low spot, resecuring a downspout — is fixable on the spot during a cleaning. If what I find is beyond minor repair, like hail damage down a whole run, I'll show you photos and quote a replacement honestly rather than patching something that's done.
Do I need to be home for a gutter cleaning?
No — gutters are entirely exterior work, so as long as I can reach the perimeter you don't need to be there. I'll send photos of what came out and anything I found, and if a section needs resealing or rehanging I'll quote it rather than doing it unasked. Littleton and Lakewood under mature trees usually want this twice a year.
