Carpentry & Mounting in Lakewood, CO

The jobs that look simple until you're standing there holding a level with one hand and a stud finder with the other. Mounted into real framing, set actually level, and finished so it looks like it belongs.

The approach

How I handle carpentry & mounting.

Everything hung on a wall comes down to what it's anchored into. A TV mount needs studs, full stop — a 65-inch panel on drywall anchors is a matter of when, not if. Where studs don't land where the TV needs to go, there are proper solutions: a mounting board spanning multiple studs, or genuinely rated toggle hardware in the right application. What there isn't is a shortcut, and I'd rather tell you that than let you find out the loud way.

Trim is a patience job. Inside corners get coped rather than mitered, because houses aren't square and a coped joint holds a clean line as the wood moves seasonally while a mitered one opens up. Baseboard on an old floor needs scribing to follow the actual floor. It takes longer, and it's the difference between trim that looks installed and trim that looks like it grew there.

Grab bars and mobility hardware deserve a specific note: those must go into blocking or studs, rated for real load, because someone's safety depends on it. I install grab bars anchored properly and I'll tell you if a location doesn't have the framing to support one — in which case we find one that does, rather than hanging safety equipment on hope.

What’s included

Every carpentry & mounting project includes:

  • Anchored into studs or proper-rated anchors — never just drywall
  • Levelled against the room, not the ceiling, because ceilings lie
  • Trim mitered, coped at inside corners, filled, and caulked
  • Cables managed and concealed on TV mounts where the wall allows
  • Weight ratings checked against what you're actually hanging
  • Holes patched and touched up if something has to move
